How Many Dogs Does Ariana Grande Have?

Ariana Grande has a total of 9 dogs the last time we checked. The popular singer and actress is well known for her baggy sweater combinations and her iconic ponytail. Another remarkable nugget about Ariana is the musician’s love for animals and dogs in particular. In fact, she loves members of the canine family so much that she currently has 9 of them, all rescued or adopted.

Her choice of pets isn’t uncommon but the fact that she has nearly a dozen of them and has adopted or provided a home for more than that number over the years is one that has raised eyebrows and piqued curiosity in equal measure. The fact that she has so many pets makes it quite challenging for some of her fans to identify or keep track of which of her dogs is which and that is primarily the reason for this article.

Meet Ariana Grande’s Dogs

Celebrities owning pets nowadays is almost as common as the designer clothes they put on to grace the myriad of events that they get to attend on almost a weekly basis. Ironically though, most of these designer clothes are made from the carcasses of dead animals, sometimes from breeds of the same animals that these celebrities love so much and spoil relentlessly. Without further ado, let’s quickly introduce each and every one of the singer’s adorable and most definitely loved dogs.

Coco

The “numero uno”, first, pioneer, pacesetter, whichever word you feel best describes the first-ever pup adopted by Ariana Grande. She is a mix of German shepherd and dachshund breeds. She has appeared in music videos and is a known face on the singer’s Instagram. Ariana herself describes the dog’s personality as a happy one and when you think about it, what animal wouldn’t be happy to have an owner like Ariana?

Toulouse

Like Coco, Toulouse has appeared in a good number of music videos and on magazine covers such as a 2019 Vogue edition, the US version. Toulouse was named after a French city and joined the Ariana family in 2013 after he was reportedly born on June 16, 2013, before getting adopted by Ariana on September 13 of the same year. He is officially the actress/singer’s second pet dog and was said to have displayed some heartfelt emotions when he was going through the adoption process. Toulouse is also a breed of two different dog types as he is a mix of Chihuahua and Beagle.

Strauss

Strauss is a Yorkshire Terrier discovered by the singer while she was on a musical tour of Oklahoma. Strauss was found and adopted from a rescue group in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 7, 2015. She is number three on our list but is officially the 7th dog adopted by Ariana Grande.

Snape

Snape came into the Ariana brood as a puppy. Like most of his canine siblings, Snape was adopted and records show that he was adopted on July 11, 2019. He made his Instagram debut on Ariana’s page with one of the adopted pups later that year to a cacophony of pleasant approval from the singer’s fans. It might interest readers to know that Ariana named Snape after one of her favorite Harry Potter characters, Severus Snape.

Lily

She’s essentially Snape’s twin as they were both adopted on the same day and equally made their debut on Instagram the exact same day. Just like her ‘twin’ pup, Lily was named Lily Potter after yet another Harry Potter character from the Harry Potter franchise.

Pignoli

The circumstances surrounding the Chihuahua named Pignoli’s entrance into the Ariana Grande family are quite special. First, the puppy was a gift from Ariana’s mother, and secondly, it was a gift that came on a special day. Ariana received the pet as a gift from her mother, Joan, on March 2, 2017, to mark the National Puppy Day. Pignoli is one of the smallest animals in the brood.

Myron

Myron most definitely receives some sort of special treatment from Ariana as the singer cum actress has a tattoo of the pup on her skin. The Pit Bull mix was a shared pet between Ariana and her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. After Ariana broke up with Miller, Myron continued to live with her and it was the death of Miller, from a drug overdose, that possibly prompted Ariana to get a tattoo of Myron most likely as a way to remember Miller.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon joined Ariana’s brood in December 2014. As it stands the female Pit Bull has lived with Grande for more than seven years. That says everything about how committed Ariana is to her very relaxed and unengaging pooch. Her laid-back nature notwithstanding, Cinnamon appears to be quite a in sync with Coco and Ophelia, a former member of the Ariana Grande dog family before his departure a little while back. Ophelia now belongs to the singer’s mom. Cinnamon’s ears have a habit of folding inwards and Ariana is often saddled with the responsibility of unfurling those cute ears.

Latayette

The last of Ariana’s current brood, on this list, Latayette was adopted on June 6, 2016. A bloodhound often seen on Ariana’s Instagram and Snapchat social media pages, Lafayette likes to cuddle and Ariana loves nothing more than to indulge him.

Ariana Grande Has A Pet Pig

Ariana Grande most definitely loves her pet dogs and does all she can to make their lives comfortable. In fact, the kind of comfort that these dogs get exceeds even the sort of comfort most human beings are accustomed to. It is however important to note that Ariana’s love for animals isn’t limited to dogs. She also has a pet micro pig named Piggy Smallz.

Like her canine cousins, Piggy Smallz has been afforded the distinct privilege of appearing in Ariana Grande’s selfies, videos, and social media posts. The micro pig was a gift from Ariana’s ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson but it doesn’t stop the singer from loving the animal any less.

Ariana Grande Is Allergic To Cats

Ariana’s love for animals is now a well-documented fact. However, it would come as a surprise to lots of her fans that she has a cat allergy. The singer revealed this important fact more than a decade ago in one of her Instagram posts. It absolutely doesn’t mean that she loves the animal any less. We just think that she strongly agrees with everyone who loves her, including her trusty canine family, that her health comes first.

We also believe that she would have loved more than anything to debunk the myth that cats and dogs can’t coexist peacefully under the same roof. Her allergy to cats means we probably won’t get to see that happen.
